1999-12-28 - SC, SC - Fireball

As my ex-husband and I were driving to NC (North on I85), I was looking out the car and noticed 2 very bright orange red (what appeared to be Fire Balls), objects in the Eastern sky.

From where we were looked to be over the ocean. They were traveling from the Earth's surface toward the night sky and all of a sudden they were gone. They were as big as a full moon or bigger.

I thought at the time, I am not sure what I thought except it was odd. If a star falls it goes towards the Earth not the other way around. To this day I am still not sure of what it was. And can not find events in GA, Sc, or NC that go with what I had seen.
