Amendment to previous report filed yesterday as reported in The Times-Picayune 12/29/99
"A burning object spotted flying overhead left a large burn mark when it crashed into a marsh. Witnesses said it seperated into two parts and crashed near Larose and Cutoff.A mile long section of the marsh caught fire. Deputies on a sheriff's airboat found no debris." As this location is 20-30 miles south of me,I can only surmise that this report is of a smaller piece of a probable meteorite that I saw travelling North moments later and that the entire meteor did not crash at that location. Biggest meteor I ever saw!
