At around 04:00hrs while stopping a traffic violator the complete southern sky lit up bright blue. This event illuminated the entire area as though it were daylight with a strange bluish hue. This event was reported by other officers in Athens,TN - Mcminn county, along with several citizens who called into dispatch.
