Four lights that form a triangle.
The incident I am about to write about happened in the fall of 1998 in the town of Grundy, Virginia. I forget which month exactly because it was so long ago. I believe it was in September. The weather had just started getting cooler.
I was in my house and had stepped out to get some air. My house was located between three mountain ranges. I saw the object appear over the mountain in the west. The object seemed to be triangular in shape even though all I could see were lights. There were 4 lights in all. Two formed the back ends or base of the triangle. While the other two were on the tip, one being smaller than the other.
At first I thought it was a plane but it moved to slow to be any aircraft I know of. I watched the object for about 5 minutes until it disappeared to the east. The really odd thing was that during the entire time no sound was heard from the object. Later that night there was a glow in the eastern sky as if there was a fire, but no fire was ever reported. Being a small town news of things like fires spread quickly.
The next day there was a significant increase of military aircraft flying all over. I don't mean way up in the sky but literally right over the mountain tops. This went on for about 2 weeks. I counted at least 4 different types of jet aircraft though I know not of what models they were. I don't know if the two are connected but it seemed odd to me that the increase in activity happened the next day after I saw the object.
My mother and father also saw the object but my father to this day still believes it was a plane. I do not. I know I haven't provided a lot of information, but I have told what I know.
