MHAFB Approach Controller sighted ufo followed me for approx 20 miles then fell off radar.
I preflight aircraft & departed runway 28 at Mountain Home Municipal Airport, ~0730 for a 60 mi, beautiful Saturday morning (Private) flight to catch up on my company paperwork (Avionics Master, Inc.). Shortly after arrival, approx 30-45 min, I received a call from Sargent ????, with MHAFB Approach Control, asking questions concerning my departure from U76 and if I had seen anyone else or activity during and/or prior to departure. I answered Not a soul, very quiet & peaceful. He then said he had tracked an object following me for ~20 miles until it dropped off their radar. I asked if this was Arnie with Mtn Home Aviation - (FBO operator) thinking it was a roos!
The Sargent said No and restated his name (which I'm sure I wrote down in my daily log), then we discussed it a bit more. That's The End, I've occassionally thought about it now for ~ 25 yrs but, thought it wouldn't hurt to report it since it was corroborated (if still not a prank) by MHAFB Military Installation.
