At 2313 hours, the caller was walking his dog and was looking to the northern sky. Suddenly, he saw a VERY bright red light streak across the sky, parallel to the horizon, moving from east to west.
The object had a very long tail on it, perhaps miles long. It gave off an orange glow, and the front of the fireball was distinctly round, although the shape of whatever object was inside the fireball was not discernible.
It was the fastest thing he had ever seen!! It looked like it was on fire, and was bright orange.
