In August/September 1986 on a very quite day as it was getting dark and we were coming from a movie and going to a hotel pub where we were meant to have a drink or two and we were turning a corner to view the place at the end of the road we saw what seemed like the back of a huge American car that was parked on the road. The back of the car was covered by what seemed like round rear parking lights, 6-10 in number.
We both stopped as we had never seen such a huge car. Not even in movies! Slowly the car began to raize vertically. As we were transfixed with fear and disbelief, this car rose up to the jackaranda tree tops that lined along the road at the hotel. In no time it began to move away from us towards buildings on the far side. The acceleration was phenomenal and was passing through the trees that lined on the T junction to this road as if the trees were not there. One by one the lights were switched off and the object disappeared.
The whole episode took about 3 minutes.
We then decided to head for home and not walk past were the object had been.
The next day when we visited the hotel and asked around if one had seen any strange thing the answer was in the negative!
