Very close sighting around children in a driveway Summer 1996 . Some adults witnessed the craft flying away
This is an experience I had in the summer of 1996. At the time I was 10 years old. This experience was not only mine but along 5 other children. Four of these were my cousins and the other my youngest sister. Ages 6 the youngest then 8,9,10,10 and 11 the oldest. To this day only one of us doesn’t remember completely the experience;only fragments.
Summer 1996, Rincón. Puerto Rico. We were in this home along our family for a funeral vigil. These traditionally were done in the homes of the deceased. As the adults were inside the home (about 20 adults) us children were in the driveway playing with parachuting toy soldiers. This event happened around 3 am.
One of the boys as he was throwing the toy to the sky, pointed out at a shooting star. At this moment I was sitting on the hood of a Chevy Nova. It has a large hood and a couple of us girls were sitting there. While we gazed at this “shooting star” it started zig zagging for a couple of brief seconds. It was the size of a dime in the distance when literally in 3 seconds it was hovering 60+feet on top of the driveway. ( I could estimate this distance only because there was a street light pole nearby. ) This “shooting star” turned out to be a massive 50+ foot disk. As it prepared to hover down it beamed a brilliant red light, then altered to a blue beam and lastly it shot a very bright white light that came from the sides of the spacecraft. This very bright withe light caused me to lean back trying to take my eyes off it. As I did that, this light was so intense that it formed a ring about 3 foot around the craft; where it looked like a daylight sky. I could actually see a couple of clouds but only around this ring space around the craft. This white beam lasted about 10 seconds.
The craft was the shape of a disk and as many people describe “silver” I would describe luminous with a striking resemblance to the color of the moon. I remember that for a split second it felt as if it was the moon falling on us. Not only the size of it but it had markings that reminded me of craters. These were softball sized circles and dots that seemed “randomly “ placed.
I was still sitting on the hood of the Chevy Nova and it was to my right. I was under the craft only about a third of the way. When the craft was at it’s closest it was very silent, just hovering still and it stayed within 25 feet on top of us. In the middle of the craft there were small windows that encircled an opening were a blueish light shone onto the driveway. These windows had a light pattern displayed.
As this was going on I don’t believe any of us were actually scared but just mesmerized. It was my little sister however that jumped off the hood of the Nova and ran off through the driveway to get my mother. It was at this very moment I had a bit of fear that because she was directly under the craft that she could be taken. My thought then was how would I explain to my mom that I didn’t look out for my sister. ( my 10yr old mind) My sister ran right under the craft because it was the only way to get to the house. As my sister goes inside the house. The craft started spinning in place clockwise. It then started making more of a light “buzzing” sound. It shot just up about 60 foot again. Still very close.
Suddenly the craft made a sonic boom as it flew north. This made such a huge sound that everyone inside the house came out and the power went off in the home for a few seconds. The adults (about 10 of them) saw the craft on the horizon as it stopped briefly on top of another house. But it didn’t do a sequence there. It seemed as it let go of some electric discharge and made another sonic boom as it dove underwater into the Atlantic Ocean.
