He was standing outside to look for the comet, when he noticed a V-shaped formation of points of light almost directly overhead. Eadh "wing" of the "V" consisted of approximately 10 objects, each about the size of a small star. Each side of the "V" was swept about 10 degrees behind the straight line oriented perpendicular to the line of flight of the formation.
The formation had a very high angular velocity, and the observers estimate was that they were moving at a very high speed. He stated that they looked like a formation of jet fighters, but there was no sound. The formation was moving faster than a formation of fighters would have been moving.
The observer watched them pass through approximately 15 degrees of arc, moving from west to east--toward the lights of Houston to the east of his position--when they disappeared from his sight because of the brightness of the ambient light.
