Observer and husband observed an immense, intensely bright aura of light being radiated upwards from beside the highway on top of the hill just south of the Nisqually delta area. The light was very visible, lighting up the sky and surrounding area for quite a distance, illuminating approximately 30-40 degrees (arc) of sky for about 3 seconds. Ten seconds later, it happened again. Then, approximnately 10 minutes later, as they were driving west on Rte. 101, they looked back to the same area and witnessed the same phenomenon.
Their impression was that the light was being radiated from a solid object, that was sitting on the ground, out of sight, beside the highway.
There were several other vehicles on the road at the time. One was a truck, together with several passenger cars.
