1995-04-15 - Henleyfield, MS - Disk

UFO seen hovering in Henleyfield MIssissippi over very rural area for 5+ minutes before rapidly accelarating away.

Disclaimer: the incident date is accurate plus/minus 3 months as I can only remember it was my senior year of High School.

I was visiting my uncle who lived in a very remote area of Mississippi (Henleyfield). I walked outside to grab something from my car that I had left and as I looked up at the very clear and open sky, I saw a UFO. It was out in the country and it was a VERY clear type of night...no clouds or fog or haze out in these parts normally and that night especially not.

Initially, my brain rationalized it as a helicopter bc it was moving. It felt like the distance was about 1/4 mile away maybe. It had lights around the edges, I believe red/white.

It wasn't moving so I just continued to stare at it without looking away for at least 5 minutes. I felt mesmerized as I came slowly to the realization that it might not be a helicopter. I was stunned, so much that I didn't even think to go and get my uncle or friends from inside the house...I couldn't look away from it. I didn't feel negative energy or anything.

I knew it was a UFO bc when it left finally. It just zoomed off like a shooting type speed. It hovered for 5+ minutes in clear sight and then I clearly saw it go from zero to outrageous speed -- and it was gone.

I was in a sort of daze for several hours after, I guess it was just a surreal experience.
