Father and daughter, both amateur astronomers, witness a strange red light in southerly sky as they are driving to nearby promontory to set up 8" telescope. Together w/ three other witnesses, observe red, circular disc which appears imbedded in red, or pink "cloud " of light. It is observed to shoot out much smaller objects, which depart "like shooting stars." Object turned blue or white, ascended at 40-45% angle, and streaked off.
