2 yellow self-illuminated discs travel in loose formation from E to W, W to E
I was visiting my girlfriend and her parents at the time, having just eaten and finished with a movie. I left to go back home and start my homework (I was attending Western Washington University at the time). When I left her house, which is situated next to a park that overlooks Bellingham Bay, I walked to my car and, as always, looked up.
I immediately saw 2 yellow discs flying in loose formation (meaning, at various points, 1 would shift or dart back and forth some) from West to East, as if to fly directly over the alleyway behind the home. They were completely silent and moving faster than any standard plane. There were no blinking lights or exhaust of any kind. The illumination of the discs didn't appear to be reflection, just "perfectly formed circles of dim yellow light".
Knowing that my girlfriend's dad was a sci-fi buff, I immediately went back to the house to tell him what I'd seen. Both he and my girlfriend came out to look at the sky while I explained the siting. As her dad was starting to say, "...it could have been ICBM testing...", the discs came back from West travelling East as if on queue. Upon witnessing the discs, I exclaimed in excitement, "THAT'S THEM!" and her dad simply said, "I'll be damned...". My girlfriend, in a panic from the sighting, immediately rushed back into the house. We continued to watch them until they were out of view and then went home.
