Low flying, comet shaped craft, lit like fire, moving in a serpentine motion, changing directions frequently, sometimes disappearing.
We were in high-school, going to the beach in the late afternoon, early evening. My friend and I were several feet behind the group. Only we noticed the craft. It was low over the water, shaped like a Comet, round at the front, tapering to a pointed tail. It looked like it was on fire, like rolling flames, not like a sparkler. It was multiple shades of orange and yellow, like fire. It moved in a serpentine motion in all directions. It would snake thru the air horizontally, nearly stop, make a right hand turn, and start snaking vertically thru the sky, then shift again snaking back the other way. It was so unnatural that we were shocked. We tried catching up to the rest of the group to tell them to look. Every time we caught up it would disappear. We'd drop back, talking about it, then it'd reappear, snaking thru the sky in multiple direction. Every time we tried to reach our friends to have them look it'd blink out of sight again. The sky was clear, it was late. The sun was low, but no clouds or other interference was blocking our view. It lasted seceral minutes, and we were just shocked. I remember it clear as day, and I've never seen another object on earth look or move the way that flying craft looked or moved. This happened before internet, so there was no one to report to. And before smart phones, so we had no camera on hand. We both saw the exact same thing and discussed it for quite a while as we watched it. We were sober, the object was fairly close, as the Puget Sound is not very wide. You can see land across the Sound, so we could tell the object was over the water, somewhere between our beach and the opposite beach. It was fairly low In the sky, and so close we could see the surface lit up like fire, but I dont believe it was actually fire. It wasnt dark yet, not even dusk, but just before sunset I think. To this day I'm convinced it was an otherworldly craft due to its appearance and physics defying movement thru the sky. Almost like it was swimming, but thru the air.
