Man called to report very brief sighting while enroute to the John Day Fossil beds near Wheeler. Both he and the driver witnessed something that looked like either lightning, or a comet to the left of them. It went behind a ridge and disappeared from sight. It cast visible light patterns, even at 1100 hrs.. Object was blue-white.
