1989-07-01 - Poipu, HI - Triangle

Triangle object, 3 lights @ each corner, larger red/yellow light in center

I was 11 yrs old during the summer of 1989, the exact date I cannot remember. I do not remember the exact time but the sun had set and it was starting to get dark with some light in the sky and I was laying in bed to sleep for the night.

My bed was next to the window, I always enjoyed looking out the window and watching the stars while I was trying to sleep. While looking out the window I saw a huge triangular object flying over my house and the house next door. Below the glass portion of the window are wooden type shutters that can be opened or shut by turning a handle with screens on the inside, these were open and I heard nothing, no sound as the object went by. The object also seemed to be rocking side to side like when you rock your hand.

The object have 3 small lights at each corner, yellow/white in color with a 4th at the center, larger, and red/yellow in color. The sides of the object were pushed inward with the top and bottom creating a type of overhang. The bottom went a bit further down at an angle then the area where the lights are located. (I have made an illustration I’d be happy to share with you.) It came south from the ocean and headed inland. At the time I remember being a tennis court to one side of my house and then a house on the other side of mine.

I will never forget that object, I see it in my head everyday. I am 44 yrs old now and I still remember it clearly.
