1983-07-15 - Means - Triangle

It was a late, dark summer night on a dirt road in a holler in Menifee Co, Ky. Mid July in 1993 (sic. 1983)at roughly 2 AM. No lights anywhere except the sky. While walking home, the movement of a 3 white light formation caught my eye as I liked to look up at the stars-the Milky Way is quite vivid out there with no electrical lights anywhere. The triangle was moving very slowly but enough to catch my eye. As I watched wondering what it was (the lights were vivid white and not blinking) the object very suddenly switched direction approximately at a 45 degree angle instantly and traveled southeasterly so fast I couldn’t understand how anything could change direction so quickly and accelerate so rapidly out of sight and horizon. I told my Dad about it and he said it was most likely a military plane and not a UFO-and not to go around telling folks I saw a UFO or I’d be in the loony bin. There was no sound whatsoever and out there, there are no sounds but bugs and frogs. It! was absolutely silent. I’ve kept this to myself for nearly 40 years and finally decided to formally report what I saw. There’s not much more, just a 3 bright light triangle very far away that turned on a dime and quickly disappeared without a sound. I hope this helps someone as your are not crazy-I saw it too.
