I encountered about 90 minutes lost time. it haunts me

I am a good citizen and always stop to render aid if I come across a wreck. I was trained in the US Air Force for basic aide.
I had been making this trip for several weeks, leaving Nashville right after work, Friday 5 pm and driving home to New Albany, just outside Louisville. It took about the same amount of time each week.
I saw a flickering light between the divided highway that had lots of trees brushes, growth and a gulley. At this point one could not see the south bound lanes. I am not sure where or what time it was but I believe I was about 3/4 or better on my trip. There were no cars on the highway at this time so I am thinking maybe it is a car wreck and maybe on fire, what else would be flickering, maybe it was just a road side fire tat needed to be reported.
I do remember shifting gears and pulling off to the right side of the road, I had my left side window down and heard the sound of the pulling off onto the roughness of the emergency lane. This is very clear in my mind.
I stopped the car, I remember getting out and staring to cross the highway then I saw something. I do not remember seeing anything, but I remember being startled, alarmed, after excited n a bad way. Absolute Fear.
My next memory was I heard this loud noise, like a very loud clap, suddenly I am in my car entering the outskirts of Louisville and in heavy traffic going 70 mph. Cars and semi's all around me. No recollection of this situation.
I arrived about 90 minutes later than normal, no reason for that, only stop I made was to check out the flickering light which I do not remember finding out what it was. I did not hear the term "lost Time" until many years later.
I scheduled regressive hypnosis , but the closer the date came, the more I feared what I would find out.
Was it better to live with a hole in your memory or to find out you were abducted by aliens ?
There was a water tower in our town, and it had a saucer shaped roof with a flashing light on it, and it never failed that every time I passed by it and looked at it I had this : thing" come over me, very pronounced uneasiness, almost a fear
I have researched a lot about UFO's, adductions, and drawings of aliens. There are two drawings of aliens that seem to be too familiar. They are nearly the same but are not exactly the same, I believe the difference was in the eyes, almond shaped, yes, but not solid black, at least not at night time. Eyes not with colors like ours, but not void of color, but void of humanity.
