1978-04-20 - Padstow Heights (Austra;ia) - Disk

I was in a boat with a friend on Salt Pan creek and we were rowing a boat. As we passed a jetty I noticed what I thought was a duck sitting on a jetty in the dark, I don't know if this had anything to do with this sighting or not I've never till this day worked it out. As we passed the jetty I noticed a dark dusk hovering silently from this jetty area toward us as we paddled the boat. It seemed to quickly hover over the back of the boat then down lower toward the water and my friend paddled his heart out till we eventually made it to mangrove trees and we sat in the boat for a while then paddled home.

As silly as this all sounds it was quite terrifying and I never really spoke to my friend since but one night I mentioned it while we were having drinks at a club when I ran into him about 10yrs later , he was short and he left. I wanted him to laugh and say it was our imagination but he was like offended.

This actual thing we saw was only about 3ft in diameter and would of been 6 or 8 inches high. It was perfectly flat on the bottom and the top rose from the edges to about 6" high in the centre. A kind of rounded top compared to a ridiculously flat under part.

I state that because I know flat is flat but this just looked perfect, it's one of the most outstanding parts I remember , and the under part or bottom seemed to have lights but not lights like I know it was more strange like those photo development room lights and seemed more to be just changing its brightness from a dull to a brighter dull kind of light.

It was absolutely silent yet I could here a noise and I can't explain that noise it was more of a thing my head or body felt than a noise but it was there while this thing was there.Kind of like a silent buzzing noise but with absolutely no sound at all if that makes sense. It flew in a quick speed to approach is and could basically hover under complete control. It was so odd that I can only say it was like a miniature typical flying saucer type object and the fact it was so small made it even more harder to speak about , I told my mother and a few friends and never mentioned it again. I still to this day remember this as it was yesterday. I know I could be hypnotised and I would state the exact thing as I've written here.

When we sat hiding in the mangroves I knew it was hovering and it may of even been present at a distance when we finally came out and rushed home but all I wanted to do was get home and not see this again.

If it was yesterday I would out it down to a drone but the fact we both saw this and didn't even speak much during the event we still both saw this.

It was dark but the flying thing seemed so flat on the bottom and tapered on the top , it was perfect like a person had just built it with some kind of material that was brand new and absolutely perfect all over. It was dark but I still saw all of this .It was similar to a polished peice of art or something strange that I just had never seen and haven't since. This appearance was the main amazing part. Not the fact that it was a weird thing hovering around us that scared us both but it's the perfect looking dimensions and materials etc that do my head in. How basic can a discription of a saucer like UFO be? But this is not the case as basic as it sounds it wasn't like that.It made a silent noise I could feel and I've never ever felt anything like that.The closest thing to that feeling but still very far away was when lightning struck a power box 40ft or so from me as I sat watching a storm .It was like I felt the power of the electricity coming as it hit the power pole and b! ox. It was like my body could feel all that power as it struck.

I know that this all sounds ridiculous but after all these years I wanted to share it , I'm not great at explaining things either and may have left out areas that make sense and happy to answer questions. I know you probably also don't get reports of little things flying around silent either. With lights that aren't like normal lights so all sounds silly but I know what I saw and I'd love to say it was the size of a football field but it wasn't. I know this thing had detected us and was observing us and I don't know what the fuck had to do with it , it was a large white European goose like thing but I mentioned it because it was there too.It was dark but our eyes would get used to dark we never carried lights or torches , there would have had to have been at least a semi part of the moon in the sky to give some light to the dark but all in all it was night.
