White light w/electrical failure
On or about (exact date not remembered), while driving my semi-truck southbound on Hwy 278 out of Carlin, Nv., I experienced what might have been an encounter. In this incident, my truck was surrounded by a very bright white light, there was a feeling of static electricity in the air (my hair was standing straight out from my body), all the lights, radios, guages operated by electricity quit working. My engine (diesel) did not stop due to the fact that it was a compression release type shutdown.
There was absolutely no sound audible above my own engine noise, I did not try to stop and could not risk looking up from the narrow two lane road in the dark as I knew that if I looked directly into the source of the light I would lose all night vison and what little visual contact I had with the road, I couldn't risk that as I was traveling at 65-70 mph at the time. The light lasted no more than 3 minutes. As soon as the light went out all my electrical systems came back on line.
